You need to be careful with whitening toothpastes, because most of them contain abrasive particles, which with prolonged use can cause damage to the structure of the enamel and increased sensitivity.

Wax-free ones have a good diagnostic function, as they are easier to hold in places where caries has already formed or the seal is old.

  • And of course – the favorite gum

The use of chewing gum can largely compensate for the lack of a toothbrush and toothpaste in the workplace. Many of them are already enriched with granules that effectively clean the teeth. In addition, the process of chewing is associated with increased salivation, which normalizes the pH in the oral cavity and reduces the risk of caries

The irrigator is an oral shower, with the help of which the dental plaque is easily removed and the inflammation of the gums is significantly reduced. Rinses can be performed with ordinary water or with antiseptic solutions that increase their effectiveness. The irrigators have two modes of operation: mono-jet – to remove food debris and clean the interdental spaces, and alternating jet – to further clean the tooth surfaces.

  • And one more thing – fluoride practice and silanization of teeth

Fluoride practice is the best way to prevent tooth decay. There are two main methods for fluoride prophylaxis: endogenous introduction of fluoride into the body and direct impact on tooth enamel, the so-called topical application.

Silanization is another prophylactic method, the main purpose of which is to prevent the development of caries. Silanization for teeth is a “seal” with a special material that protects the chewing surfaces of the teeth and reduces the risk of caries.

This method is especially suitable for children who are in the period of eruption of permanent teeth, because they have a lower content of minerals (about 75%, while in adults the percentage is 96) and predispose to the development of caries.

The prevention of dental caries is a completely complex activity, which includes several main stages, the most important of which is undoubtedly the regular and proper cleaning of the teeth, combined with the use of suitable mouthwash to reduce the bacterial flora.
