Varied diet 730 days ?

  • For those who think that a varied diet is difficult for the organization and compliance.
  •  To achieve your goals, you must eat only chicken, rice, broccoli and grapefruit!”

Do you recognize this “rule”, which to date I literally sweep the legs?

If you’ve heard, if you follow it if you plan to follow it – stop! Stop and take some of your time to let you in a different world in which too can achieve their dreams results in a bonus to experience pleasure from food.

I shared that I’ve gone through anything in nutrition. Mistakes after mistakes, but good lessons learned.

I should tell you my last lesson that I started learning a little more than two years and who intend to become the general rule in the future.

Today I will share the emotional side of things and will reveal more details about the pros and cons faced in the last two years (cons are purely organizational and pros are entirely towards a more complete way of life).

As implied, will talk about yourself and your experience – this is no guarantee that if someone starts to eat a varied, will solve all problems once.

However, nutrition is part of the puzzle, which also includes lifestyle, stress levels, sleep quality and many other factors.

How it all began

In my mind he is brewing the idea that we should make changes in feeding activity, and the time came when I discovered a food allergy type III to gluten, dairy products and eggs.

I wanted to cure these allergies, I wanted to eat a more varied and my joy when I sit down at the table … and jumped boldly into new adventure.

I’m not from people waiting Monday the first day of the month or any other important date to begin. Have I decided it, there’s nothing to it long.

01.22.2014 launched a year and the calendar tells me that it was on Wednesday.

Organization

Learning a new habit

I think many people fail in starting a new venture because it did not give enough time in learning new habits.

Habits are not built overnight and if we want to have success in what is, is good to know ourselves, to understand what approach will help us (though in each person are individual things) and to slow down.

I’m learning new things by writing in a notepad sheet or in the form of alarm in the phone. I need about a week to daily reminder to get used to the invention, and to know that the second-third week will deal without a reminder.

Mission “varied diet” I took a small notebook that would be convenient to carry and place it in my palm.

I wanted to eat a 4-day rotation of food – ie within four days not repeat food as I turned off the menu all the food to which they are proven to have allergies.

At the end of each day writing down the foods that I included in that day. So I always do quick reference to previous days to draw up a plan for the future so as not to repeat meals within 4 days *.

The notebook was my “alarm” that always sat in my purse to purse – could not help but see it, could not fail to open it and see what I ate that day.

You might say, “Well, how can you not remember what she ate 2 days ago ?!” and you’re probably right, but when everyday person is occupied with commitments brain helpfully miss small details, but one detail can be precisely my food from 2 days ago. And, seriously, that wording does not take more than 30 seconds.

* Important: Rotation I was consistent with my doctor and it was necessary to cope with their food allergies and is based on the idea of immune nutrition. This is not something extremely necessarily a healthy person – just enough not to get stuck on the same food for 5-6 days and more (see again the article on a varied diet) and be careful with foods that are proven strong allergens.

Shopping

The habit was easy.

Shopping proved possible stumbling block. I have no car – go walk and use public transportation.

This requires better organization in shopping because not always all the products we want to buy are available in a store, and if left to go around different places far from each other … the whole day will go.

I studied the neighborhood where I live. I rediscovered a shop which always deliver fresh fish. Literally it did was located pavilion with nice Bulgarian fruit and vegetables. I met with the owners, I was nice to buy from them. Nearby, fortunately, is also the company store meat products.

Not far away – at the same intersection is larger food chain, which was ideal for specific things.

I found two shops for vegetables, coffee and tea near my work.

The plan was as follows:

  • I shop when I was late to work (I have days when I work until 21 pm);
  • Shopping for 2-3 days ahead (two types of meat / fish, two or three kinds of vegetables and fruits, two or three types of pulses, etc. – the idea is clear);
  • If I needed something that was not close, sending up a task to my friend (indeed, it is very important when a loved ones share the same views and help each other, the facility is times greater).

Cooking

The benefits of home-cooked food we talked at length.

So check the quality, do things to your liking, you save money, you put good energy in preparing their own food, and more …

And you not have to be a professional chef to do well. If I can, then anyone can!

The plan here:

  • Cook on the same days where shopping (usually 3 days a week);
  • Cook for 2 days ahead;
  • I did blanks of vegetables;
  • Keep all carefully arranged in refrigerator.

And you dont lose much time . With good organization, within 80 minutes, during which it is even possible to do something else at home, you can cook for 2-3 days ahead.

Emotional side:  positives &  Negative sides

 

Negative : 

At the beginning it was difficult, purely psychic, get used to the idea that I have an allergy to foods that I ate last few months; that should include new products that each day will have to eat something different.

As I mentioned in the article on a varied diet, I was afraid that the “new” food will not achieve their goals. Many wrongly thinking and a lot of unwarranted fear.

Then I need to give more time to explore – to see how I feel with newly introduced products, and to establish in what amounts to eat so as to maintain the desired balance calorie and macronutrient ratio.

I have not thought anything because no matter how you think things in practice are more important. I watched carefully and over the weeks and months everything fit.

Sometimes it was difficult to shopping planned things – tired from work, hard training, I longed to go to bed, not yet walk to the shops with bags. This minus confess appears occasionally now. Sometimes we feel more energetic and sometimes – just the opposite. In such moments I told myself (say): “Better shopping done now be gathered, prepare for the next day, even holidays then would be sweet.”

It is sweet.

But it’s the sweet spot, because the positives sides  for me were much more and know you deserve a small “sacrifice” for the sake of my own better version.

Because along with the other pieces of the puzzle I really saw and felt it go in the right direction for me.

 

Positive :

They were revealed in the course of these two years and apply with full force now.

I learned that I can achieve your goals with more food variety and delicious. All restrictions were only in my head.

Introduced new foods, new flavors, aromas and colors. I began to feel a desire to cook to experiment and explore different combinations of food. I had setbacks, but they contributed to the subsequent better dishes.

We understand that you do not need to obsession with a recipe / food and eat it every day because that same desire you can come up with 10 new recipes with 10 new products every day to eat a favorite thing, but different. Some of them see in the image to the paper. My previous menu was limited to chicken, rice, lentils and broccoli, so I’ll spare you the sight.

I began to feel more energized and satisfied with the food. She became a friend and not an enemy.

I was happy because I was delicious at any time, and this is reflected in my perception of things around me in general. The world was not cooked chicken and broccoli. The world has become a color!

I made repeated test for food intolerance after a year and a half compliance with food rotation. I removed my allergies to eggs, to date, I can say that I managed to cope with all allergies. A big plus of this – health tell him!

Again eat eggs. Again, I make pancakes.

I know I can eat again all products, of which I was deprived, but I felt their absence, because a varied diet revealed to me a new world that is not going to leave.

The lesson learned :

  • will continue to eat a varied;
  • We will continue to pay attention on the quality of their food and avoid processed products;
  • And we will not be an obsession with food to eat continuously for months;
  • I’ll go shopping and cook your own food because I like it because it gives me pleasure because I put good energy;
  • I will not get angry if I have a week where I can not eat so varied for different reasons. The next week will be repaired.
